This was so awesome Freya, loved the part when you talked your grandparents getting married fast and them thinking it was wild that people from our generation would never do that.
maybe the overlords are diagnosing everyone with mental illness and ignorance because they want more people medicated and they've lost thousands of years of narrative control.
Your interdisciplinary understanding and how everything is connected is unique. How you manage to see the paradoxes, such as infantilization but also growing up fast. It is like we are stuck in a Peter Pan world but somehow also the complete opposite.
The commodification of everything is also such an important aspect, and love your book cover that is so illustrative of that. Do you also think that narcissism, that gets thrown out a lot, is related to hyper-individualism and commodification? Those who have nothing to sell (not talented etc.) need to manipulate their social environment in order to not be excluded or lonely.
There is one thing tho that I have a little push back one regarding anxiety and what to do. The reason people choose to isolate and not "push themselves" to get rid of social anxiety, is because our modern social environment is not natural or normal. We are not supposed to meet anonymous people on the street every day as hunter-gatherers. Our mind is simple not made for it. And there actually are some minds genetically that handle this worse than others.
It is not normal to go alone to a school without your parents in a social complex environment. It is not normal to leave your home to go to work with people who do not truly care about you. The list goes on. My point is - we do suffer more today socially than before objectively. What is the solution? Well, first to understand what I just said and that it is tough. It is not normal to have to push through truly embarrassing or painful social situations. That was never an issue for hunter-gatherers for 99% of human history. They only lived in small tribes where they knew everyone since birth and social anxiety virtually did not exist!
And who do you think push through this? The adjusted people to a maladjusted world. Should we really lean on those?
This is the meeting with the hyper-real. From a Kantian point of view there is no such thing as real; only representations. What we create from the hyper-real is the loss of internal processes. Man in search of a soul?
Schopenhauer would say: it is the will that seeks itself through representation, but gets stuck in an eternal loop of desire for more stimuli (scroll, like, notice). Jung would add: the hyper-real blocks the process of individuation – integration of the shadow, anima/animus, collective unconscious – because it never forces us to confront the inner darkness or the unknown; everything is served up as ready-made archetypes (influencers as modern gods, memes as collective symbols without personal processing).
There are dozens of small small micro plates along mid ocean ridges which transform collision zones and transform geologic boundaries. The big ones are billions of years old. The smaller ones not so much. Maybe in their 30's
Freya is one of those fierce (rather vocal) exceedingly visible, smart, charming, good looking and common sense plates
They happen along complex spreading ridges and in regions where a larger plate is breaking apart. I actually think this is happening in the world today if anyone looks.
Hopefully social change (getting rid of the internet) does not take as long as geology of the next continent.
Freya accelerates this process.
The two British guys are on track to be eventually social and political Craytons if you want to look that geologic term up.
This shines a light on many important issues. Thank you for using your voice.
Loved the episode. You spoke so well. I also pre-ordered your book for when it arrives in Australia. Onwards and upwards young lady. 💪
It was fabulous!!!!! 🩷
I'm sorry to say I've never heard of you (thank you triggernometry for fixing that for me!!!) and I will be buying your book! 🩷

This issue has been breaking my heart for years - I am sitting here crying in gratitude that you are speaking up. Thank you so much, Freya 😭💜🙏🏽
Great interview!
I gave you a shoutout as well, in my own small way: https://hamannature.substack.com/p/girls-are-in-crisis-right-now-boys?
Freya, did you see Raymond Ibrahim’s interview on Triggernometry?
